ThemeWare® Price Adjustment
Some of you have been using ThemeWare® for many years. Your trust has brought ThemeWare® to where it stands today: the most widely used premium theme in the Shopware Store. We would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank you.
The following change exclusively affects rental prices. Our commitment to you and your projects remains unchanged.
- What: Rental prices will be adjusted to the current rental price in the Store.
- Who: Only customers who have been renting for more than 12 months at a price below the current rental price in the Store.
- When: Starting March 17, 2026. You keep your current price for another 3 months (transition period).
- What do I need to do: Within 2 months, accept or decline the price adjustment in your Shopware account.
Why this step?
When Shopware changed the license model from subscriptions to monthly rental, a crucial mechanism changed: subscriptions renewed automatically at the current price. The new rental model, however, locks in the entry price.
While this sounds fair for new customers, it means for us as a vendor: customers who have been with us for years are partially paying prices that no longer reflect today's effort.

The numerous configurations, as well as each of the more than 87 plugin features, must be tested, adjusted, and kept compatible with every Shopware update. Add to this security updates, performance optimizations and support. This effort is not a one-time thing. It grows with every Shopware version and every new feature we provide.
ThemeWare® is not a finished product that was published once. We regularly deliver new features that would appear as separate, paid plugins from other vendors. All ThemeWare® customers receive this added value automatically, at no extra charge.
Inflation, rising personnel costs, growing technical requirements. We cannot absorb all of this if part of our customer base permanently rents at prices from years ago. To continue developing ThemeWare® long-term at the level you know, prices must reflect the current value.
The current rental price in the Store of €49/month reflects the actual value and the real effort behind ThemeWare®. It is not about asking for more, but about aligning the price with the value. ThemeWare® delivers significantly more today than at the time you started.
What does this mean in practice?
Only the rental price changes. Scope of services, support and updates remain unchanged. Your individual previous price is stated in the email from Shopware.
With annual billing you pay €468/year. This effectively equals only €39/month instead of €49/month. You save 20 % and secure ThemeWare® for 12 months.
How does the price adjustment work?
- You will receive an email from Shopware with all details (current price, new price, deadlines).
- You keep your current price for 3 months (transition period).
- Within 2 months, you can accept or decline the new price in your Shopware account.
- Upon acceptance: The new price applies after the transition period or from the next billing cycle.
- Upon decline or no response: The rental will be terminated after the transition period.
- Even after cancellation, you can restore the rental at the new price until the end of the transition period.
- Annual license special case: With less than 3 months remaining, the new price only takes effect in the next billing period.
Frequently asked questions
The adjustment affects all customers with outdated rental prices equally. Individual exceptions are unfortunately not possible.

If the adjustment is difficult for you, write to us. We will find a solution.
Your shop continues to run. ThemeWare® is not automatically deactivated. However, without an active license you will no longer receive updates or support. Shopware will also remind you of the missing license via the license system.
Yes. We also offer free ThemeWare® variants in the Shopware Store. However, these do not have the same range of features and do not receive the same update frequency as our premium products.

Yes. Until the end of the transition period, you can restore the rental at any time at the new price. Even afterwards, you can rent ThemeWare® again at any time at the current rental price in the Store.
Because we want to continue developing ThemeWare® at a high level on a long-term basis. This is not economically viable with prices from several years ago. ThemeWare® bundles over 87 plugin functions, each of which must be individually tested and adjusted with every Shopware update. This effort grows with every version.
In general, the current rental price in the Store applies equally to everyone. However, in justified individual cases we are open to discussion. Write to us directly.
Honest answer: yes, that is possible. We have been operating ThemeWare® since 2017 and intend to do so in the next decade as well. To ensure this, we will re-evaluate prices at irregular intervals, as any sustainably managed company does.
What we can say clearly: there will be no automatic annual increases. Price adjustments only take place when they are economically necessary.

The price adjustment is not an endpoint. It is the foundation for bringing ThemeWare® to the next level. We are already working on new features and improvements that will be released in the coming weeks and months.
