Withdrawal button requirement from June 2026

Selling to Germany?

Starting June 19, 2026, the so-called withdrawal button will become mandatory for many online stores in Germany. Customers must then be able to submit their withdrawal electronically and directly within the shop. According to Shopware, this mainly affects stores selling to consumers, while clearly separated pure B2B shops are generally not affected.

For Shopware, the vendor will provide a native solution starting with Shopware 6.7.9.0. In addition, a backport for Shopware 6.6 has been announced. Especially in the case of custom frontends, modified storefronts, or third-party themes, the visible integration in the shop should be checked carefully.

ThemeWare® is ready

For ThemeWare® customers, there is already good news: a compatible version for Shopware 6.6 is already available. A compatible version for Shopware 6.7.9.0 will of course also be provided as soon as we have fully verified and ensured compatibility.

Update: ThemeWare® can display the withdrawal button from version 3.7.4 onwards for Shopware 6.6.10.14, or from version 4.3.0 onwards for Shopware 6.7.9.

Update: Activate the withdrawal button

The "Revoke a contract" button is a default Shopware feature. You can enable it in your Shopware settings under Basic information.

Tip: Make sure that a suitable CMS layout with a revocation form is also assigned there as the "Shop page layout for revocation request" – Shopware should have already created a suitable layout during the update.
