Shopware 6.6 released

Shopware has released Shopware 6.6.0.0 today.

Update: With Shopware 6.6.0.2 Shopware 6.6 is available through the WebInstaller again so that an update from 6.5 to 6.6 is possible from the administration.

Important note

Make sure that all extensions are compatible with Shopware 6.6 and work without errors before you activate them in your live system! JavaScript errors are one of the most common reasons for errors in the Shopware storefront and there have been some changes in Shopware 6.6.

Shopware has partially un-released Shopware 6.6 to fix a problem with the web installer and the auto update feature:

We just partially un-released Shopware 6.6.0.0

Namely the web installer and the distribution via the auto update feature in the administration.The github tag is still live.

Why?

If a shop has installed plugins which are using the executeComposerCommands function, the update via the administration can fail.The shop is not in a failstate afterwards, the update just fails.

What now?

If you are administering your shop via cli and composer (which you should), it doesn't matter, everything works fine.Everyone who is using the browser to update their shop has to wait until this is resolved, which might take a few days

Update – 02.04.2024

Shopware has released Shopware 6.6.0.2. With this Shopware 6.6 is available through the WebInstaller again so that an update from 6.5 to 6.6 is possible from the administration.

We released Shopware 6.6.0.2 to fix a bug that sortings are saved in a wrong format in CMS slots. Besides that Shopware 6.6 is now available through the WebInstaller, so it's now possible to update from 6.5 to 6.6 from the Administration.
