Changes in detail
The "Fullscreen search" has been optimised to improve accessibility
The accessibility of the "Fullscreen search" for screen readers and keyboard navigation has been improved.
Form in the "Newsletter" widget optimised for improved accessibility
The styling of the form in the "Newsletter" widget has been improved to enhance accessibility.
Configuration for the "automatic transition" of the "Hero slider" added [Pro Edition]
Due to accessibility concerns, the "automatic transition" feature has been disabled in the "Hero slider". If you still want to use "Autoplay", you can activate it via a new theme configuration.
Attention: Enabling this feature may cause parts of your storefront to be inaccessible to people with disabilities. This may constitute a violation of accessibility laws in your jurisdiction (e.g., the European Accessibility Act).
Configuration for the "Skip element" link added
You can now customise the colour of the "Skip element" link via a new theme configuration.
Configuration for the "Skip-To-Content" bar added
You can now customise the colour of the links in the "Skipt-To-Conten" bar via a new theme configuration.
Configurations to underline certain links added to improve accessibility
In Shopware 6.7, several links are now underlined by default to improve accessibility—such as those in the footer navigation or the breadcrumb. To give you more control over the styling of these elements, we’ve added individual configuration options for the affected areas in this release.
- Tab "Content" => Block "Breadcrumb" => Section "Typography" => Underline links
- Tab "Footer" => Block "Layout" => Section "Typography" => Underline links (Headlines)
- Tab "Widgets" => Block "Footer navigation" => Section "Typography" => Underline links
Additionally, with ThemeWare® 4.0, we’ve introduced a global configuration setting that can override these individual options. This global setting is now also respected when rendering underlined links—allowing for consistent styling with minimal effort.
- Tab "Others" => Block "Accessibility" => Section "Layout" => Underline links

Link "Skip carousel" added to improve accessibility of the "Hero slider" [Pro Edition] #FeatureRequest
When navigating via keyboard (Tab key), a "Skip carousel" link now appears above the Hero Slider.\ This improves accessibility by allowing users to skip the slider and jump to the next content section.
Bugfix: Checkbox in the "Newsletter" widget for Firefox browsers fixed
In Firefox, the checkbox in the newsletter widget was not displayed correctly. This problem has been fixed – the widget now works as expected in Firefox.
Bugfix: Position of the flyout when using the feature flag "ACCESSIBILITY_TWEAKS" fixed
When the Shopware feature flag ACCESSIBILITY_TWEAKS was enabled, flyouts were sometimes incorrectly positioned.
Notes
As a rule, we avoid making changes through updates that alter existing shop functionality or appearance. However, in order to deliver a theme that is as accessible as possible, this update includes targeted adjustments that may also affect your shop.
These changes are necessary to further improve the accessibility of the storefront – and ultimately enhance usability for all visitors.
Important changes
- Several links are now underlined by default
- The "automatic transition" of the "Hero slider" has been disabled [Pro Edition]
Accessibility
In recent releases, we've already implemented numerous improvements in the area of accessibility. ThemeWare® 3.7 continues these efforts in a meaningful way for Shopware 6.6, aiming to make the storefront even more accessible.
While the main focus of our accessibility enhancements is already part of ThemeWare® 4.0 for Shopware 6.7, version 3.7 serves as a practical interim solution for all those still working with Shopware 6.6.
Additional accessibility improvements are already planned and will be introduced in upcoming updates.
Accessibility Notice: An update alone will not make your shop accessible. Updates can provide the technical foundation or improvements that enable accessibility – but the actual implementation is up to you. Achieving digital accessibility requires individual efforts, including content, structure, and design choices tailored to your specific shop.
Best regards, Sebastian and the ThemeWare® Team
