ThemeWare® 1.1.3 and Google Fonts

After we have successfully launched our new, completely updated and international documentation, we now have released a new ThemeWare® update.

In ThemeWare® 1.1.3 we have added a new CMS element, enhanced existing CMS elements, integrated default fonts for all themes and fixed two bugs.

Highlights

CMS element "Image banner" added [Pro Edition]

The "Image banner" for ThemeWare® Pro is a new CMS element that offers you new design and customisation options.

In contrast to the teasers, the banner has no text and offers an option to fix the image so that it does not scroll with the content.

You may already know the colour overlay from the existing CMS elements, but with the "Image banner" there is a new option to configure a dual-colour gradient.

The new "Image banner" thus offers you the possibility to create attractive dividers with just a few clicks.

Configuration added to "Classic teaser" [Pro Edition]

A #FeatureRequest for the ThemeWare® Classic teaser has been implemented.

The "Classic teaser" is based on the teaser designs of our Shopware 5 themes and, like these, previously had no individual configuration. We have changed this with the new update. An individual configuration can be activated in the "Classic teaser" with which you can customise the colour of your teasers.

Added configuration "HTML tag" to some CMS elements [Pro Edition]

We have implemented a #FeatureRequest and added a configuration for a desired HTML tag for headlines in CMS elements. Headlines are rendered as p-tags for SEO reasons. Any HTML tags can easily be used with the text editor of the CMS elements.

Select "HTML tag" for the headline

In addition, there is an option now to select a HTML tag for the heading in the following CMS elements:

  • Hero slides (Text + Call-to-Action)
  • Call-to-Action
  • Hover box

Changes

Theme fonts are now installed locally and loaded without the Google Fonts API

We recommend that you do not import fonts via the Google Fonts API, but host them locally on your server and embed them from there. To take this recommendation into account in the ThemeWare® configuration, we have decided to deactivate the "Import Google Fonts" configuration.

We have integrated the designated fonts of each theme into the respective theme. This means that they are stored locally on your web server and no longer need to be imported via Google Fonts.

In addition to the default font "Inter", 1 or 2 other locally installed fonts are available for each theme.

Of course, you can still add more fonts manually using our instructions ("Embedding fonts locally" or "Embedding fonts locally using the ThemeWare® Customizing Plugin").

Note: Please check your font configuration after the update. Minimal differences in the appearance of the fonts are unfortunately possible, but this is the most convenient solution for integrating fonts in compliance with the GDPR.

Note: If the font in your shop changes significantly after the update, your fonts were imported via the Google Fonts API. Activate the Google Fonts Import again (at your own risk!) or install your individual fonts locally on your web server.

Tip: You can find out more information on the topic of "Google Fonts" in the ThemeWare® Manual: Google Fonts
